Team UXC GNCC Round 2 Race Report

The GNCC tour concluded its Southern tour at Moree’s Sportsman Preserve in Hartsville, SC. A new venue for the GNCC last year, it proved to be a popular one. This weekend was going to be no different especially as the weather was in the 90s! So when the flag dropped on Saturday, the machines and the riders were going to need to be ready for the heat. Almost the entire team was in attendance as Camp Coker was both Round 5, for the ATVs and Round 2 for the UTVs. We were also joined by the Fox Sports Destination Polaris TV show team. The show was doing a feature on Team UXC and RT Pro Ace driver, Jesi Stracham.2

UTVs: Pro XC1 drivers, Michael Swift and Kevin Trantham rolled out the brand new 2017 RZR XP1000s for the SC sand. Both pro drivers have been working hard to fine tune the already awesome XP1000 to excel in the GNCC mixture of XC and woods. The great chassis products from RT Pro allowed Swift and Trantham to push the cars pace without failures. After a superb holeshot off the 2nd row, Swift finished 6th in XC1 Pro class. Trantham was a little further down in the dust in 10th. Thanks to Texeara Tech for their suspension products that make the car handle and drive so well. With both riders still relatively new to UTV driving at this level, there is no doubt, that both Swift and Trantham will be putting one of these machines on the podium this season!! Also driving this weekend was Team UXC/Bair’s Powersports driver, Matt Ashton was joined by our guest rider from GA, Kurt Starling, and drove well to bring his machine home in 2nd in Amateur Limited.3

Single Seat Aces: Factory Polaris and Team UXC racer, Jesi Stracham continued to enjoy her new Ace 900XC and battled in the top 5 all race finishing 5th overall. Becky Widdicombe had some issues during the race adapting to some developments to the new machine. She came home in 7th.

Don’t forget to keep your eyes open for the Destination Polaris episode showing on Fox Sports soon!

We perform best as a team and like to share the fun – see you in Indiana for a brand new race!!
