  • 2017 Rally in the Pines Recap

Rally in the Pines 2017 took place in Mackay Idaho July 6th-9th. Mackay is a town of 517 people. This event had over 1,500 in attendance. As you can imagine, there wasn’t a single open camp site, hotel or parking spot in the entire town. This surge of people only added to the excitement of the UTV/ATV specific event as the promoters, Bam Film Productions, rolled out their well-planned schedule and coordinated with the 40 vendors on site including RT Pro.

This event spread over four days. Each day had lots of activity including guided and self-guided rides, a night ride, raffles, giveaways, a luncheon, a dinner, best of show contest and even a UTV parade where participants could “decorate” their UTV’s for fun and there were some great entries! There was also a free ice cream social for all in attendance including, vendors and riders. This was a great way for the public to meet and get to know the vendors in their industry. We met some great people at this family friendly event.

RT Pro was set up at this event with a great display of products and one of our 4 seat XP Turbo RZR’s with all the RT products we trust on our rides to get us home every time. We were running our new RZR XP Turbo Replacement Spring Kit on the stock shocks this weekend. After several people joined us on rides the overall impression was they couldn’t believe how much better a properly designed spring kit could make a RZR ride. The rides took us over dirt roads, trails and even a few rock crawling sections and the RT Pro springs and improved geometry from our A-Arms and Trailing Arms definitely made a noticeable difference in ride quality, handling and ground clearance over the stock UTV’s we were riding with.

Rally in the Pines was a lot of fun and we got to meet some new friends and customers. We’d like to thank Bam Film Productions for putting this on and recommend this event to anyone around the Mackay area to check out next year.

  • Yokley Racing John Penton GNCC Round #3 Race Report

    FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Yokley Racing/Factory Polaris Heads to John Penton GNCC for Round #3

Millfield, OH (July 8, 2017) With rain in the forecast, Round 3 of the UTV GNCC series was shaping up to be an interesting weekend as usual. The Penton was said to be the longest running GNCC venue on the circuit with approximately 20+ years and running. On top of its long running history, it also pays tribute to a legendary figure in the Motorcycle industry, Mr. John Penton himself. With the rain ending Friday night about 8:30 and with sunshine and a nice breeze on Saturday, the track was tacking up really nice for the 4:30 start.

“Thanks to my Ballistic Battery and Millennium Technologies powered engine my XP1K came off the starting line like a rocket almost grabbing the holeshot" said Yokley, as he headed into the woods in 3rd place after some very close and exciting action on the second turn dodging Kyle Chaney as he spun out in front of the Yokley Racing/Factory RZR team causing them to move back in position.

Yokley was running in a comfortable 3rd on the first lap when a driver hit him from behind locking the two cars together with their bumpers causing him to fall from 3rd to 14th overall. “I didn’t really know if we were going to get the cars untangled” said Yokley while stating that he almost smoked his belt in the process. Things really didn’t get any better as the team battled with other drivers pushing to get back to the lead pack while landing under power on the mx track that twisted the drive shaft that eventually broke. Losing 4wd at that point, Yokley just drove to the best of his ability to finish in the slick conditions in order to salvage points.

Pushing through till the end payed off as the Yokley Racing/Polaris moved up from 5th place in points to 4th in the overall points chase.

The Yokley Racing Polaris Team would like to thank its 2017 sponsors for all that they do: Polaris Industries, RT Pro, Elka Suspension, STI, CP Carillo, Millennium Technologies, Ballistic Batteries, Hess Racing, OMF.

  • SIMS Race Report San Diego County Fair

June 27, 2017- Del Mar, CA- When I saw the advertisement for the WGAS Motorsports/Black Rhino Performance SXS time trial race at the San Diego County Fair, I knew I had to check it out.  The fair is right in my backyard!  They were offering only two classes on race day- 900 production and under & 1,000 turbo/unlimited.  I would run in the 900 class and put my Polaris RZR 800 to the test.  They had a 16 and up age limit, but after talking to WGAS ahead of time, they cleared me to race even though I am only 13!  I was stoked!SD Fair 12

On race day, we arrived at the fair and got checked in.  There were seven cars in my class, and I would be #7 in line to run.  Because it was time trials, we were running one at a time on the course against the clock.  They set up the first race in the afternoon as a qualifier and the evening race was the main event.  When it was time, I lined up outside of the stadium entrance and waited for my turn.  They let us do one practice lap to get a feel for the course.  After running that first lap, I was pumped.  It was a great course with awesome jumps!  We lined up again to run our two qualifying laps.  My first lap time came in at 38.495 seconds and after round 1, I was running in 3rd place!  We lined up again and I knew I could shave some time off my next lap.  As the green flag dropped, I took off and raced as fast as I could around the course and over the jumps.  As I came to a stop at the end, I came in with a lap time of 37.882 seconds!  I was still running in 3rd after round 2, and I got ready to move to the main event that evening.SD Fair 10

We would be running 3 laps in the evening and I had some ideas to try to shave some more time off of my laps.  We got ready and lined up outside of the stadium again to run the main.  We were in the same race order as earlier in the day, so the other 6 cars ran their laps, and then it was my turn to go.  I took off out of the gate!  I raced around the course and came in with a lap time of 37.556 seconds.  I had improved again!  I waited to run lap two and knew I could do better.  I took off again, and I clocked a 36.991 second lap time!  My third lap in the main and final lap for the day was the best by far.  I knew the course well and I flew out of the gate.  I clocked a 36.188 second lap time!  I was beyond pumped and excited!  I was able to improve my lap times by 2.307 seconds over the course of the day, I was the youngest racer at the event, and I placed 3rd in my class!    SD Fair 13

Thanks so much to these amazing companies and people that support my program: Got Sand Performance, Addict Racing Engines, Red Rock, Method Race Wheels, Crow Enterprizes, Factory UTV, GBC Motorsports, RT Pro, Yoshimura, Demon Powersports, Baja Designs, Gates G Force, Elka Suspension, Rugged Radios, Maxima Racing Oils, Crown Performance Products, Surface Sun Systems, Butter Supply Co, Pavement Recycling Systems, Perrault Motorsports, and my parents who make this possible for me!  Thanks to WGAS Motorsports and Black Rhino Performance for putting on this awesome event and for allowing me to race!  You can check out the Sims188 Racing team on Instagram @csims188 or on Facebook at www.facebook.com/csims188/SD Fair 3
