RT Pro’s Logan Gastel Takes Top Ten Finish at BITD Henderson 250

RT Pro’s Logan Gastel claimed another top ten Pro UTV finish at the Henderson 250 in Nevada, which secured a seventh place finish in the points championship at the final round of the 2015 Best in the Desert series.

Gastel drove his way to an impressive seventh place finish with the help of his co-driver, Adam Mckinney, making it Gastel’s best performance of his rookie season competing in the Pro UTV class. “In August we built a turbo Maverick and every race we just get faster as we learn this new car. We took ninth at Vegas to Reno, eighth at Bluewater, and now seventh at Henderson,” said Gastel.
The two lap, 160 mile course at Henderson was considerably rocky and challenging, but RT Pro’s Logan Gastel put in a great race. “It was tight racing. We were about six minutes off the winners. It is amazing to see how close the field is after 160 miles, it all comes down to minutes. The car ran good. We miscalculated a little on the fuel so we had to back off the last few miles to make sure we made it to the finish, but other than that the car ran flawless and everything handled great,” explained Gastel.

Gastel credits his success to the great products he runs, stating, “the RT Pro car and suspension held up great. We have a little over 1,100 race miles on the chassis and suspension with no failure. It is pretty impressive to see how hard we push these machines.”

The Henderson 250 race signifies the end of the Best in the Desert series, but Gastel accomplished a lot with the help of the RT Pro team. “We finished seventh overall in the championship, which is not bad for our rookie season. Considering we have lined up against 50 plus cars this year with 30 cars that have raced every round, ending up where we did is pretty impressive,” explained Gastel.
Gastel was happy with the seventh place finish this season, but is hungry for more and has even greater plans for 2016. “We look forward to building on this season and we hope to end up in the top three next year, possibly even going for a championship. We will be back in 2016 and we will have all the same sponsors. We look to use what we learned this year to make improvements for next year,” explained Gastel.

Until next season, we can expect to see Gastel and the RT Pro team hard at work preparing to build on their rookie year, and fight for the 2016 BITD Pro Turbo UTV Championship.
