RT Pro’s Jesi Stracham Third at GBC Heartland Challenge
RT Pro Heartland Challenge Ace Report
RT Pro (formerly Racer Tech) driver Jesi Stracham finished third in the GBC Heartland Challenge Ace single seat race in Carlisle, IA. Stracham, driving her specially built Polaris Ace equipped with hand controls, overcame a belt issue to record the podium finish.
Stracham, who is paralyzed from the waist down, ran the special event to stay in shape for her full-time effort in the GNCC series. She was pleased to finish on the podium in the competitive endurance race.
“This is really practice for me for GNCC because I’m still in the championship over there,” said Stracham. “I was really bummed after losing the belt. I had belt problems from the start. My check engine light came on early. When the belt came off, I thought the car was on fire, which was a scary moment. I pitted, got a new belt and I kept going.
“As long as I finished and I’m healthy, that’s all the counts,” concluded Stracham.
Stracham will be back in action after the GNCC summer break October 1-2 at Powerline Park in St. Clairsville, OH.
